After class today we jumped on a 2:52PM train to Naples Italy! It was a three hour train ride, VERY expensive!! Will cost over 120 Euro, nearly 200 US, in just the train ticket. The train was great though, best one we have had yet. It was EuroStar and went really fast and smooth. We had room to get comfortable and we all got in some nap time at some points in the trek.
We pulled into Naples, having no idea where and when the train to Sorrento was. Which stresses some out, but for some reason I like that. The train situation is, they run every hour or so, so I sort of like having to ask people in different languages where and when the train is coming and going.
We finally found it, three floors beneath the main terminal on this ollllld dirty train. We stood the whole hour long ride from Naples to Sorrento. It was actually a great ride, it was fun because the train ran right against the coast line through all these little towns. It was very cool.
We got to Sorrento and had NO CLUE where our Hostel was. We had a name and address, but the street signs were mysteriously missing here. So we went from shop to shop showing them the address (honestly, Pat did most of the talking) and asking them if they knew where it was. After about 20 minutes of wandering the streets with all our bags and backpacks, we finally stumbled upon it.
It is really nice, you never would have guessed it was a hostel. Very clean and open. Our room is nice and has air conditioning. They, obviously, have computer access, etc.
We were dying of hunger, so went to this place close by with cheap prices and good choices. The food was phenomenal!! Everyone said that this area has some of the best food and so far they were right. All of our dishes were great and cheap!
We came back, I did some homework, BJ read, Pat showered, those two boys went to sleep and I am up! I cant sleep right now. Those two love their sleep. But, in their defense BJ was up every hour last night letting in our party girls downstairs who were drunk and wanted to visit while BJ and I were sleeping. And Pat had not gone to bed before 3AM this whole week. So they are both a little tired. I have been keeping it quiet lately, so I am not in sleeptime mode, but not party time mode either. lol, what to do what to do!? BLOG!
So, tomorrow we are heading to Capri. It is an island just off the coast. We can see it from where we are at right. So we will take a ferry out there in the morning. We have a place for Friday and Saturday nights, Hotel Loreley. I am excited because Capri is not really a crazy party town. It is really nice and more of a chill with a glass of wine or a cocktail and just relax. Which is good because I have two presentations on Monday and we all have Papers due next week. So, chilling and getting reading and writing done is what we need!
School is going pretty well. It is way harder than we all thought. My theory is that, we had a Rep from the American Bar Association sent out by the ABA to monitor and review the program to see if it is up to par for a law school. So i think they turned the heat up on us pretty good! No worries though, the ABA Rep brought her family and her 19 yearold daughter met us all at a school sanctioned dinner and wanted to come out with us that night...remember, no drinking age in Italy.
She came out with us, and..apparently as her parents were being walked home by the professor her Dad was telling them how I seemed really personable and he felt good with having me with the crew going out because it seems like I was the social coordinator, etc, and he felt comfortable with me there.
well...lets just say, at one point she was dancing on a little stage in a cage type thing at one club, drinking whiskey and then when it was time for her to go home at like 3AM the person walking her home dropped her off like 2 blocks from her apartment they were staying in. ha. SCARY.
The next day we were freaking out so bad, waiting for a call "did the ABA reps daughter crash at your guys place last night, she never made it home" needless to say, she made it home fine and all is well! She actually had a great time as did her parents, so I hope we do well with the ABAs review.
hmmmmmmmmmmm, as you can tell I am trying to get myself tired because I hate laying in bed when I am not tired and thinking about all the things that then stress me out more...school, money, etc!
okay, so my sister wanted me to do a little comparative thing, like talk about things that are different and similar, etc, from Italy to the U.S. since she and many of you guys who read this have not been here before.
So I will add stuff here and there in the future BLOGs, but here are some things.
The birds scare the shit out of me! I call them BIRDS OF PREY as they fly in flocks at my face and I dive to the ground. But, since I am hilarious, when I was at the vatican I called them BIRDS OF PRAY. ha.
So basically the birds are like citizens here, they basically do what they want.
You know in the states I guess a food that we are known for would be like the all american Cheeseburger! The comparison to Italy would be Pizza. So I always thought that it was just a stereotype, and it would be like the cheeseburger and they would be here but I had no idea how wrong I was! Completely serious, there are minimum two pizza places on EVERY street block! By the slice, whole, folded into a pizza sandwich, etc! We have NOTHING compared to the pizza in the states. Way worse than starbucks. It is amazing to me. Pat had HotDog pizza a few weeks ago, I tried zucchini pizza...both were eh. But seriously there are hundreds of places in the city!
okay, I am going to go to bed now. Some English lady came down and was a little bitchy because she wanted on the computer...she was rude, she had no clue how long I had been on to begin with, all she knew I could have just sat down. But, I should probably try and sleep!
We miss you all. See you in three weeks.

I digress....
okay, my last post about stress was a tad annoying lol!
I know we are in Italy and about to travel to one of the most beautiful islands in the world. Yeah, I know, life is tough. I just don't do well with unknown, where some people LOVE it, I like having a solid plan etc, etc.
So we shall see!!
We are heading out of here in about an hour, we will all have our laptops for school purposes, so if there is internet somewhere you will hear from us, if not check on Sunday night.
Ciao

Stress ...
well, stress level is reaching a peak!!
Money is dwindling down, there is nothing more depressing than withdrawing 100 euro for the week and having it show basically 200 american dollars, when you factor in fees and charges.
I am really stressed about this, actually googling credit cards right now to see if I can get one that I will pay off when I work this summer, lol!
20 Page paper next week and my huge presentation on Monday. Lots of work to do...
Plus this afternoon we are heading to Sorrento, which means 4.5 hours or train riding...where we have to switch trains. Then after one night there, we head back north to Naples and take a ferry to Capri. All while working on my presentation and trying to not spend money. lol
This next week will be rough...but once the papers are turned in and the presentations are done, ...sigh.... I can breath.
okay, time for class....
